An avid "Garden Stylist", Kathleen spends most days with her friends and family (outside of Fortuitas of course).
How long have you worked at Fortuitas and what has kept you with the company for as long as you’ve been here?
I have been at Fortuitas since 2016. Fortuitas is a great company to work for because everyone is dedicated to delivering quality work with innovative solutions, and very smart and engaging.
As a Senior Project Manager, it sounds like you keep a pretty busy schedule. For those of us who don’t know, what does that entail? What does your typical day look like? What are your favorite things about your job?
I am typically the main contact and project lead for multiple projects and clients. Most of the time I am leading cross-functional teams to define user experiences and responsive design for web and mobile applications from inception to launch.
I enjoy being the person who gets to oversee all the moving pieces to projects. I get to communicate with a lot of different teams and business owners throughout project duration, to ensure all impacted stakeholders understand risks, issues and activities. Being able to conduct creative, development, and technical reviews with my project team and the ability to manage an entire project lifecycle keeps me busy and engaged.
As someone who collaborates with Clients daily, what advice can you offer to new companies seeking agency assistance?
The most important advice I could give is to make sure that you have clear communication with your Agency. There are always going to be things throughout a project that get changed, need to be adjusted, or the timeline shifts for whatever reason. Just make sure that you have clear communication with your agency. They are essentially an extension of your business for that duration and share in the ultimate goal of seeing the project through to completion. With clear communication you can tackle almost anything together.
When you aren’t elbows deep managing client projects at Fortuitas, what are you most likely to be doing outside of work?
Most days, I am either going to yoga, hiking, cooking, and collaborating with friends to make their home and gardens look beautiful as a design stylist.
